Break The Yoke

Apr 26, 2018 | Discipleship

Isaiah 9:4 NLT
“For You will break the yoke of their slavery and lift the heavy burden from their shoulders. You will break the oppressor’s rod, just as You did when You destroyed the army of Midian.”

Series: The Book of Isaiah

Prophetic books have a very big significance because everyone of this prophetic books are deep personal expressions from the mind and the heart of God. And most of the prophetic books if you read them closely we will see this phrase that keeps repeating – “Thus says the Lord  which means this is the voice of God, “God is speaking”. So it is necessary that we pay attention.

And the bible says, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from mouth of God.” – Matthew 4:4

Today’s scripture portion is from Isaiah 9:4, “For you will break the yoke of their slavery and lift the heavy burden from their shoulders. You will break the oppressor’s rod, just as you did when you destroyed the army of Midian.”

This is the prophecy about the coming of Jesus. So many times we think that the coming of Jesus is only to change religion. Ephesians 1:4 it says, “Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.”

When Jesus comes into our lives, it is not suppose to just change our identity or religion on the outside but it is also suppose to give you a sense of freedom in the inside.

The bible says, “He who sins is a slave to sin.” – John 8:34

And when Jesus died for us on the cross, He did not just die so that we can go to heaven, He died so that we can experience freedom from sin, sickness and bondages that the enemy puts us under, during our lifetime here on the earth.

And when Jesus did take up that cross, when He got beaten up, when He spent the last drop of His blood for us on the cross , when He got crowned with the crown of thorns, and pierced on His side, and gave up His life for us, what do we think that He was doing? He was fulfilling the prophecy that He will break the yoke of slavery.

What is that you are addicted to right now? Is it alcohol, smoking, food or drugs? Whatever you are extremely dependent on, you are addicted to that one thing.

The only thing that you can be legally addicted to is Jesus. Click To Tweet

Your dependency on God is even more superior and important than your dependency on basic things like food, air and water but God is saying, “Everything that makes you a slave, Jesus will break it when we give Him access into our lives.”

The truth is that Jesus broke the yoke of our slavery. The reason we live in slavery is because we don’t know the truth. John 8:32 says, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

This revelation that Jesus has come to set you free will set you free!

Prayer:

“Father God I pray in Jesus name for Your light to shine into every heart, mind that is not thinking straight and correct. I speak let the light of God shine into their hearts and their minds right now and let them have a fresh revelation and knowledge of the completeness of what You did for us on the cross, the truth of what the freedom that You purchased and delivered for us Lord. I release that freedom over every person that is listening in Jesus name. Amen.”

God bless you!
