1 Thessalonians 2:10 NLT
You yourselves are our witnesses – and so is God – that we were devout and honest and faultless toward all of you believers.
Paul speaks to the church of Thessalonians, challenging them stating that you’all (people in the church) have been a witness though there has been contention and strain.
Paul asks them to prove where they’d gone wrong and then goes on to say, you are witnesses to the conversation, relationships and the way money is spent.
God doesn’t expect us to live in hiding rather be an open book for the people around us. Why? Because, people need to experience God, the goodness and power of His love through our lives.
Paul’s life was an open book to the people around him and hence he could say ‘you’all’ (the people) are witnesses.
We love to live in a world where there is privacy building walls and adding filters. However, there has to be a level of transparency in our relationship with God and our relationship with people around us.
People were witnesses to Paul’s life about they being devout, honest and faultless.
The way the world sees God, ain’t in a dream or vision rather, it is seeing God through our lives and devotion. Just like the Samaritan women’s devotional life attracted the whole city to come and sit at Jesus’ feet.
Your devotion has power to attract people to Jesus!
Devotion leads to honesty and being upfront in our relationships and thereby being faultless.
How many of us can have the same testimony like Paul did when he told the church (you) are our witnesses? How many of us can hear the same testimony from our church and families we live in?
If we can’t speak this boldly, we need to inspect our relationships asking God and looking for areas of improvement.
Pray this today: I want to live a life that is devout, honest and faultless. I want people to be witnesses. I want my life to be an open book for people to see and experience Your grace.
