Wisdom With Inheritance

Oct 9, 2018 | Discipleship

Ecclesiastes 7:11 NLT
Wisdom is even better when you have money. Both are a benefit as you go through life.

If you don’t understand the context of the verse in Ecclesiastes 7:11, it can become one of those verses in the bible that gets misinterpreted in a negative or a wrong way. It can be driven to teach you that money is more important than wisdom, and, however, that is not way you have to read it. You have to read it with the context.

This is what the bible says in Amplified version, wisdom along with an inheritance is good and an excellent advantage for those who see the sun. If you have an inheritance that is great; however, wisdom when it goes along with that inheritance that is even better. The reason being that if the inheritance comes without the wisdom, then you will eventually end up destroying the inheritance, the money, and the provision that God has given to you.

The best example in the bible is the prodigal son in Luke chapter 15.

King David he left a lot of inheritance for his son King Solomon and ordered him what to do with that inheritance, how to build the temple of God, in fact, the very blue print of the temple of God that King Solomon built was given to him by King David. He gave him the wisdom under which he can use his inheritance and money.

Don’t let your eyes be fixed only on the inheritance and forget the wisdom that God wants to give us.

When we disconnect from wisdom, then whatever you have received from your leaders cannot be of great benefit as much as it can be with the presence of wisdom.

Reach out to your leaders, fathers, and mentors this week with what God has entrusted you with and ask for wisdom on how to handle it because if you handle it like the prodigal son, you will end up blowing up the whole thing in just a matter of time. The bible says that there was famine in all the land but there was still food in his father’s house because in the father’s house there is plenty of wisdom being utilized in using the inheritance unlike when you are outside the covering of the father’.

May the Lord open your eyes to see and understand the inheritance that he has in store for you so that you can make the best use of it for the day ahead.

God bless you. Have an amazing and beautiful day ahead.
