Mind to Work
Nehemiah 4:6 ESV
So we built the wall. And all the wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.
Nehemiah was such an amazing character, who did a historic job of rebuilding Jerusalem when the city was in ruins. We need to build a phenomenal revival in our cities that can change the history of the church, the same way Nehemiah did to Jerusalem.
Word says ‘for the people had a mind to work’, these people were so intentional on a daily basis for this particular task of rebuilding. There are thousands of people living without the protection and eternal security of God. So it is our responsibility to build a wall around them, not just by praying for them but by bringing God’s Word to them. The message of Jesus being brought to people means people get an opportunity to be saved.
We have become satisfied about the fact that our children are saved, that our church is doing well etc., but this is a season where God is calling some of us with a burden for our Nations.
Jesus preached a mandate to His disciples saying ‘Go make disciples of all Nations’. This commandment from Jesus makes us responsible to bring the gospel to our cities.
Nehemiah caused people to have divine discontentment in their hearts and not be content with their city in ruins. Instead the people were inspired to work hard and be passionate.
