Laid Hands Upon Them

Series: Receiving the Holy Spirit
We can never experience revival devoid of the Holy Spirit.
There was an overflow of the Holy Spirit in Jesus because of which the disciples received an impartation of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:17 – “Then Peter and John laid their hands upon these believers, and they received the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 19:6 – “Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.”
While Jesus breathed on them, Peter, John and Paul started laying hands on people out of the overflow of the Holy Spirit that they experienced. And everybody they had a physical contact with were filled in the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit is very creative and every time he has a new way of making sure that we are filled by the Holy Spirit.
Thats an important principle to learn. If you want to be filled in the Holy Spirit or you want the people around you to be filled in the Holy Spirit, then you have to exercise physical touch.
As much as its easy for me to pray for you in the spirit, its still much required that you find someone who can be there with you physically and pray along with you on a regular basis. You need a church, a mentor, and people around you who could be praying physically for you.
From that kind of a relationship, the overflow from their life you will experience a touch of the Holy Spirit and vice versa. We practice this in our church each week, and every time we do so, we have seen lives transformed and realigned to the purposes of God.
The first century church did not just know this principle, but also practiced it. I encourage you to not only look for anointed people around you that you can pray for, at the same time pursue people who don’t have the same overflow you have and you pray for them!
The more we do is, the more the presence of the Holy Spirit will abound among us, and the more we will experience Revival. God is just looking for available hands and available people who will be willing to pray and believe God for an overflow.
Have a blessed and glorious day ahead!
