marriage talk

In today’s marriage talk, we have Prophet Manoj and Chaitanya talking about their passion towards God’s Kingdom and service unto Him. We learn about their pursuit of God’s Kingdom in marriage as well as parenthood and how serving God is not only about being on the frontline.

Transcript:

Ps. Priji
Greetings in Jesus’ name. Today, we have Prophet Manoj and his wife Chaitanya with us. Prophet, we would love to hear your life experiences and grow along with you. Also, we would love to hear what the Lord has taught you through the journey of your relationship with each other, and, in your journey of watching and learning from others.

Ps. Manoj & Chaitanya
We cannot thank you enough for having us over, we hope that this will be a blessing to all the viewers who are tuning in.

Ps. Priji
I know that you are involved in a Prophetic Ministry and that you lead one. We would love to know, what are the things you both are individually passionate about and what are the things that you both are passionate about?

Ps. Manoj
All my passion is channeled towards God’s Kingdom and serving him. All that I really want to see in our marriage is that it reflects his kingdom and even when it comes to parenthood, it’s the same.

Ps. Chaitanya
We both share the same passion. For me, serving God could be in any manner and it is not required to be on the frontline. It could be just standing by my husband, supporting him and being a good parent, because I think parenting in itself is a ministry too. Also, I am in constant pursuit of loving like Jesus. I love my God, definitely! But being able to love others the way Jesus does is my passion.

Ps. Manoj
All this might sound too spiritual, but that’s been our source all along.

Ps. Priji
Well, I think it has to be that way. Sometimes, our lives become centered around various physical aspects of life, like ambition, job, money, house, vehicle etc but when we make God at the center of every thing, life just become so much more easier and that’s what the bible says, “Seek Ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and then every thing else gets added.” On that note, I would like to know the dynamics of your relationship, what are some of the core values that you have clung to from the beginning? when you say that the kingdom of God is what you’re after, how do you practically pursue that in your relationship? What are some of the values that you cherish, and, some of the boundaries that you wouldn’t cross?

Ps. Manoj
Something that we constantly talk and try to practice, is that we don’t segregate Ministry on platform and Ministry at home. For us, as much as addressing a crowd is important, ministering to each other, ministering to my son, is also considered a Ministry unto the Lord. It’s important as leaders, to host his presence and see his kingdom manifest in our lives, in our homes, in the lives of our children, first, and then it overflows outside.

Ps. Priji
That’s powerful! because, sometimes we say that family comes later or ministry comes later, and then, we put everything into a box. We think that this is church, this is family, this is work, but then, God is in everything! God is the one who has given you the family, he is the one who has given you the ministry, he is the one who want you to do that work and then, if God is not at the center of everything, we are not working well. So, on that note, I want to understand how important has it been for you both to have a spiritual connection with each other? When we talk about preparing for marriage or, in marriage, we focus a lot on the emotional aspect, effective communication, physical attraction etc… but, I want to understand from your perspective how important is it for you to have a spiritual connection with each other so that your marriage can work the way God has ordained it to?

Ps. Manoj
We always see each other from God’s perspective and that has been a huge key in our marriage. Because, we have two different personalities and we constantly tune into God, to hear what he says about the other and we try to see each other from God’s perspective, rather than giving into our own thoughts.

Ps. Chaitanya
Yes, that’s helped us to respect each other, to a newer and higher dimension. I think respect has grown day after day because of the spiritual connect that we share, we see that God really intervene into every small details of our life. When two different personalities come together, there can be a lot of differences, and I think, it’s only the God factor that will help you to get a better understanding of the other and love, all that they are.

Ps. Manoj
Yes yes, coming to this aspect, having to see our relationship or marriage from God’s vantage point has also been a primary key.

Ps. Chaitanya
Just to add on to what he said, I think it also aligns us, towards our vision. Every marriage has a vision to accomplish. So, when we have that spiritual connect, like you have your own prayer time and I have my own prayer time. But, the holy spirit is one, and when we are guided by the Holy Spirit, everything becomes a mutual decision and there is no scope for confusion, misunderstanding or debate. It helps you to navigate easily.

Ps. Priji
Yes, I think the more we rely on ourselves, the greater our dissimilarities show forth, but, the more we rely on the Lord, on the spirit of God that is inside of us, the more we can grow and walk in a path of wonders. That’s beautiful! because most times we highlight the fact that, we are different people so we will never agree and we will never be able to achieve the vision or mission that God has given us. But, that’s when we focus on ourselves, but, when we focus on the spirit aspect of us, we can achieve a oneness and a unity that is beyond the natural realm. So, I would like to know, what are some of the practical ways in which we can pursue spiritual intimacy with our partners? how can we grow in spiritual oneness? what are some of the practical tips that you would give for young couples.

Ps. Manoj
I do my best to involve Chaitanya in my walk with God. Something that I continue to do is really understand what ‘the word’ is speaking to her? I engage with her asking, what is it that God has been trying to speak to you and help her in that process.

Ps. Chaitanya
One more thing is that we need to spend time together, it could be for five minutes , or 10 minutes. I think spending that few minutes of time, having the Lord with us, it makes a lot of difference.

Ps. Manoj
We know each other and our weaknesses well. We know the things that can blow up, so, consistently bringing the Lord into those areas, just allowing him into our hearts even in those areas of weaknesses helps.

Ps. Chaitanya
Another thing is that, there are some weakness that you find it very difficult to love in the person. In those moments, asking the Lord to really put that love in your heart, to be intentional, and loving the other person through the weakness plays a very major role in marriage. Otherwise, gradually over the years, you get familiar and you’re like, it’s okay, this is what it is… I think we need to grow out of that, we need to look at the person with what God has called them to be and respect your spouse with that kind of love.

Ps. Priji
In another words, you are not just tolerating the person by just ignoring the problem, but you are you seeing it from God’s eyes, because, God has seen this person in a better way and you are continuing to call forth, what God has spoken about them through your prayers.

Ps. Manoj
When we talk about seeing from God’s eyes, you may think it is unattainable, but, he gives us practical solutions. For example, if you are having an argument or disagreement, probably one of you would be right, and you really want God to get the other one, because you are correct. But, Spirit of God says, hey! you want to be correct or you want to reconcile? so what really matters is your opinion or your love for her?

Ps. Priji
I don’t think we can find a better counsellor than the Holy Spirit.

Ps. Manoj
We really thank God for our spiritual father, our mentor, Prophet Jacob Pillai, who’s had a really important role in our life. We’ve barely sat and spoken to him about marriage, but we’ve seen his marriage, we’ve seen his walk with our spiritual mother, his wife. For me, just seeing him do life, do ministry, do work, has been encouraging. Sometimes things of the spirit are caught than taught, you see your father do life and you catch on certain things and then, you try to inculcate that into your life. So, Jacob was born and Israel had to be formed. I think it’s God’s highest calling for every individual, for every marriage, every leader, to seek Christ being formed in us.

Ps. Priji
On that note, I’d ask you what is the one advice you would give to those that are on the journey, to finding their future life partner? what would both of you tell if you could give some advice for young boys and young girls? what to pray or what to expect or what to ask, or how to go on, in the journey to find their Isaac or Rebecca.

Ps. Manoj
I would say wait and seek the Lord. That’s the first and the foremost thing. One of the great leaders said, trust in the Lord so much that your rib comes out I. from the presence of God. Meaning, God put Adam to sleep and then he bought Eve out of his rib. So, make sure to press into God so much, that out of that place of relationship with him, you will find your better half. Age is not a factor for God, when it comes to marriage, he sees how you have prepared your heart. Your heart can be prepared when you’re 21 or 22 and your heart can still not prepared if you’re 30 or 32, so it’s really not about the age. My advice to young people is, to trust God with your life first, and that primarily comes by getting back to the word, getting back to what the word says. Also, be practical, get the help of your Pastor and ask, for example, what do you think of that person, see how your Pastor consults you on the matter. Rather than looking for someone outside, it’s better to find someone in the house of the Lord.

Ps. Chaitanya
From my personal experience, this is something I’d like to share. When it comes to girls, parents mostly look for security, but what I’d advice young girls is that, don’t run after money, don’t run after his job, don’t run after his his house, but, run after Jesus first! When you run with Jesus, he’s going to bring the right person, at the right time. Consistently make an effort to hear God, through your journey and, even when a person comes in, lear to hear what God has to say. Allowing God to work in your heart is the key at this point,

Ps Manoj
Yes, discernment can be a very powerful key.

Ps. Priji
On that note, I’d ask you to pray for our listeners and speak the heart of God. There are marriages, that are at the verge of breaking down. There are those, that are at the verge of giving up their pursuit for their life partner, so, if you could pray and speak whatever God is speaking to them into their hearts. So that, hope can be restored and lives can be reunited and, marriages can be rebuilt because of that one word you speak.

Ps. Manoj
Lord, the three of us want to take this time to pray for all our listeners, father Lord, we pray that you’ll start to minister to their hearts through this short talk we had. Sprit of God, I pray that you begin to take these words and sow into the good grounds of their hearts father, that this word will begin to bear fruits in the hearts right now. Lord, I pray right now in the name of Jesus, Spirit of God, we release your presence over all the listeners. Spirit of God, we want to especially pray for those who are waiting for their spouses, I pray that father, you begin to minister to their hearts, that you begin to give them clarity, as to how to go about this journey, father, we pray Holy Spirit, come, we invite you into this process God.

Father, I pray through this podcast that you will create beautiful stories of couples meeting each other, we pray for prophetic encounters, Lord father we pray that the people will testify about how, after hearing this podcast, things begin to shift in their lives, things begin to take a turn, little more closer towards their destiny. We pray for young couples and young marriages father, in the name of Jesus, Lord we pray that the Spirit of God help these marriages, as they are in the process of becoming one. Probably there are indifferences or clash of egos, but Lord, let these listeners start to see their spouses through your eyes. Father, we pray that you will put a desire in their hearts to reflect you in their marriage, father. We want to bless you all in Jesus’ name.

Ps. Chaitanya
