Series: Israel the Prostitute

I hope that this podcast that comes to you on a daily morning basis, it is an encouragement and help you pursue a deep and personal relationship with God. I think that is the end goal of everything that we do here at Bangalore, through our church, ministry and travels everywhere we go, the one thing that we inspire people to do is to have a deep, real, personal, genuine, affectional relationship with God, because I think that is what God desires from us as well. God is not looking for money, worship or time on a Sunday morning, but God is looking for is a personal relationship and every time God did not find genuine love and desire from your side.

It’s a proven fact that “God loves you”. But how much do you and I love Him? That’s the question that God’s word keeps asking us repeatedly. We need to love God not just with our words but even with our actions.

In Hosea, it’s talking about God’s heart broken situation because He is expecting to love Israel and expecting it to love Him back. But God is heart broken with the reaction, emotions and response that Israel gives Him.

Hosea 1:6 –  “Soon Gomer became pregnant again and gave birth to a daughter. And the Lord said to Hosea, “Name your daughter Lo-ruhamah – ‘Not loved’ – for I will no longer show love to the people of Israel or forgive them.”

Here God is saying that He wouldn’t forgive Israel. We know that the God is the God of unconditional and unending love. We know that the very nature of God is love. We never heard God say this ever before. Very rarely we would actually hear God saying that ‘I’m not going to love you’. Can you imagine how much heartbroken God must have been because of the sins of the people of Israel? Because God says no longer you will be called loved.

You have no idea how much our sins, our actions grieve the heart of God.

As long as we try to receive God’s love in our own strength we will continue to be called as not loved, sinners, selfish and unrighteousness people. There is an option that we all have and that is through Jesus. If you can come to Jesus and tell Him that “Lord I know I’m a sinner but through You I want to experience the love of the Father, through what Jesus did on the cross and through the life that He lived for us three and half years on this earth. He lived a life of perfection, holiness and purity.

If you are putting your faith in Jesus, what will happen is you will begin to experience the love that God has for you through Jesus. If God looks at you directly, all He will find is a person that He cannot love and the identity that He cannot identify Himself with. Because the bible says ‘no one can come to God except through Jesus’, the day you relate to God the Father through Jesus your identity is changed.

Bible says ‘Behold how good and how beautiful it is’ – this is how blessed and awesome it is for us to be called as children of God and loved by God that we should be called the “Beloved of God” and “Children of God”. When you come to Jesus you have the new identity.

Sin causes us to be a part of these groups of people and generations that are rejected and discarded by God. It’s not because God doesn’t want to love you but it’s because He hates the sin too much to allow into His presence without dealing with it and the only way to deal with your sin is to go to Him through Jesus and allow Him to work in your life and have complete ownership of your life and change your identity and come to Jesus and say, “Lord this is my identity that I’m not loved and cannot have any forgiveness but I come not with the works that I have done but with the works that You have done for me when You were on the earth and the death that You died for me and the righteousness that You purchased for me. I come to the Father in the name of Jesus.”

So when you pray that, then your life will be accepted by God and your life will be a sweet smelling offering for Him. And God will enjoy every bit of what you do for His name.

I pray that you will make that decision today. God bless you!
