Luke 1:10 HCSB
“At the hour of incense the whole assembly of the people was praying outside.”
If we study the practices and rituals of the people in the old testament, they did not have the privilege of praying whenever and whenever they want unlike for us.
In Luke 1:10, it talks about the place when Zachariah goes into the temple to pray and the common people are standing outside as they are not allowed to enter in. Also, this prayer was supposed to be done at a particular hour. But this is the amazing thing about New Testament which is post the death and resurrection of Christ that we can pray to God at any given hour and without the help of your pastor or any human being, all you need is your dependence on the Holy Spirit and your willingness to pray through Jesus who is our High Priest now!
When Zachariah went in to pray, it was only to him that God spoke. This is the freedom that we have today, that we do not pray to feel good but to hear the heart beat of God and to know His will for our lives.
So often we pray just to relieve a burden off our chest instead of knowing what God has to say.
Hope this will change from now on and you’d pray with an expectation that God would reveal His heart to you. And everything that was not possible will be possible through and with Jesus since He is our High Priest.
If you are struggling in any area of your prayer life, I pray let every high strong hold, unbelief, misunderstanding, wrong concept, old testament prayer practices etc, will be shattered in the name of Jesus. I release His grace, mercy and favour over you, let prayer and desires be restored and let there be renewal in your hearts. Let there be a hunger to walk with You, for You and in You, in Jesus mighty name we pray! Amen.
