The Orphan Heart

Oct 19, 2018 | Prayer

Hosea 14:3 NLT
Assyria cannot save us, nor can our warhorses. Never again will we say to the idols we have made, ‘You are our gods.’ No, in you alone do the orphans find mercy.”

It is only in the name of Jesus we can reply on. Every other name may fail us, but the person of Jesus will never fail.

We will look into the verse from Hosea 14:3.

….Assyria cannot save us

The people of Israel during a particular season they put their trust in the rulers of Assyria. But these were a trap which stopped them from serving the Lord and growing and going into the destiny that God had planned for them which we see later how these Assyrians turned out to be a problem to the Israelites.

But Hosea is prophesying that Assyria will not save you.

Every name other than Jesus that you have put your trust in it may be your boyfriend, your parents or job, disconnect your heart from it.

….Nor can our warhorses

Sometimes we go outside our house or we look for our own resources for help. This is what the Israelites did, they first sook help from Assyria and later when they failed, they looked for their own warhorses, their own wall, in a way that they can compete with and bring down the forces that were against them.

Whatever is your ability that you are trusting this morning, your capacity of depending on your own, let it be broken in Jesus name.

…..Never again will we say to the idols we have made, ‘You are our gods.’

Never again use your words to express trust in our own gods. Whatever we are talking with our life it is going to be different. God is releasing a newness in our conversation. We will not give credit to anyone but give glory only to God alone.

…..No, in you alone do the orphans find mercy.

Hosea is saying when you go to people, the warhorses or the idols to save you, you are an orphan, however when you rely on God, you will find mercy.

If you are feeling like an orphan or rejected, go to God because in Him alone you will find mercy.

An orphan is someone who doesn’t have physical or spiritual parents and the ones who doesn’t have continual consistent trust in the Lord.

In this season let your trust in the Lord be revived and the Lord show mercy and grace upon you and you will increase and grow and your worship will go to the next level.
