Smelter and Purifier
The mercies of God are new every morning!
But we have to be submissive to some of the fiery things that He will allow in our lives because fire always purifies us.
In Malachi 3:3, the Lord is giving us a picture of what would happen when He would return. This is been true for every coming of Jesus. The physical coming of Jesus, the glorious second coming of Jesus and also the spiritual manifestation of Jesus on every move of God.
And each time when He moves the results are obvious.
The one who purifies silver or gold, puts the metal into an intense fire and he knows at what temperature each metal will melt and hence allowing the metals to pass through the right temperature and observes the results and then he purifies and refines them. The Lord says this is how He will purify the sons of Levi.
When God called out the nation of Israel from the land of Egypt, He wanted the entire nation to be a kingdom of priests. But when the nation of Israel rebelled and started worshiping the idols at the time when Moses came down from the mountain, the only tribe that set themselves apart was the tribe of Levi. But in the New Testament after the death and resurrection of Jesus, the bible says that we are the royal priests. The same plan of God that was for Levites, is for us now.
The job of the Levites is to take care of the house of God. And the same God wants to purify and refine each one of us. Why? So that we may present to the Lord our offering, worship and praises in righteousness.
The problem today is not that we don’t have worship, or we don’t have people who serve or we don’t have people that don’t give, but the problem is that we are not giving our offerings in righteousness.
And so the Lord says that He is going to come in this season and He is going to purify our lives so that whatever we offer it will be an offering in righteousness.
Submit and allow Him to be the smelter and purifier and let Him mold you into His image and His plans for your life.
