Reviving The Soul

Feb 19, 2018 | Discipleship, Podcast

Psalm 19:7 NLT

“The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.”

Series: Led by the Word

We enter every season of our life asking God to give us a fresh word and fresh direction. The reason we often fail is because we do not depend on God. We think we know how to solve our problems and that’s where we become foolish in our thinking.

The Bible says do not trust in your own understanding.

Then how do we depend on God’s understanding? The best way is to give heed to the Word of God by reading the Word and letting Him minister to you through His Word.

Psalm 19:7 says the instructions of the Lord are perfect. This means that there cannot be a mistake in the Bible and we do not have to try to figure out if the Word is applicable and relevant to us. If it is in the Bible, then it is perfect.

Read your Word like you’re reading a perfect literature. A perfect expression of the heart of God.

You will experience a revival in your soul if you’re willing to heed to the instruction of God’s Word. We all need revival in our soul, especially at the beginning of a new week. Some of us may be exhausted to start work again after a five day busy week and a busier weekend. But your strength does not come from the food you eat, or your bank balance or your friends and supporters – your strength comes from your dependence on the Word of God and from the voice of Jesus. That’s why the Bible says man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

Revival is not something you will experience only when a guest speaker comes to your church and something marvelous happens. You can experience revival on a daily basis. Make a decision to have your own revival meeting every single day, to have an encounter with God and to listen to His voice. Don’t let others interfere in your walk with God, or let your circumstances decide your walk with God. If your walk with God is dependent on circumstances, you will waver from day to day. Be willing to depend on God, not on your circumstances and you will experience revival, greatness and strength everyday.

Go into your new week with the aspiration that you will walk in the supernatural abundance that God has prepared. It does not matter how things are or how people look at you or how your family treats you; all that matters is your relationship with God and when it is on a strong and stable foundation, you will experience revival of the soul.

We pray and declare that the word of God will reach out and touch your heart, and you will experience revival in your soul. You will not go into your week hungry, exhausted and frustrated. We pray for divine strength in your spirit which will overflow into every area of your life.
