2 Kings 19:16
Bend down, O Lord, and listen! Open your eyes, O Lord, and see! Listen to Sennacherib’s words of defiance against the living God.
Series: Overwhelming Victory
Today we are studying from 2 Kings chapter 19. King Hezekiah was ruling in Judah at the time and he received messages from the king of Assyria threatening to capture Jerusalem and asking Hezekiah to submit.
Hezekiah panicked when he received these messages, but he didn’t panic in front of people or towards himself. He panicked in the presence of God. He went up to the Lord’s temple and spread out all the letters he received before God.
The primary way in which the enemy attacks us is through words. Words that lead to doubt and causes us to question ourselves, lose faith and change our direction away from godly ways. This is what causes so many of us to fall into the trap of the enemy.
The enemy came with words to tempt Adam and Eve and even to tempt Jesus. He comes with negative words of temptation, words that are aimed at making us lose our trust in God and put our trust and focus in something else.
Come to the Lord today and ask Him to take over every negative tempting word the enemy speaks into your ears. We speak total victory over negative words in your life, over words that are not meant to be present in your life.
May God give you courage and victory over every word and thought that is not from the Lord.
